Working with Withdrawers in EFT with Kathryn Rheem, Ed.D., LMFT

from $45.00

Friday, October 13 2pm-5:30pm (virtual)

Understanding the emotional inner workings of withdrawers can be challenging for therapists. This course will present interventions for working with withdrawers and establishing emotional safety, with an additional focus on the key change event of withdrawer re-engagement in Stage Two of EFT from the perspective of the Experiencing Scale (EXP Scale; Klein, Mathieu, Keisler & Gendlin, 1969).  Dr. Rheem will provide understanding of the inner world of withdrawers, their view of self, and the ways their relational behaviors protect them and their relationship with their partner. She will discuss and demonstrate how to create pace and tone in the therapy room that communicates safety and enables clients to take the risks of engaging with emotions they’ve long avoided.
